Native Foresters the survey area, including the Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) and Grey-headed flying fox (Pteropus poliocephalus), both listed as Vulnerable. 3.1.6 Protected Plants Flora Survey Trigger map The Protected Plants Survey Trigger Map is a tool provided by DES in order to identify areas that may contain EVNT plant species. The trigger map is used to determine when a flora survey needs to meet the requirements of the Flora Survey Guidelines – Protected Plants (NCA, 1992). Figure 3 shows that the site lies within a Protected Plants high risk area and as such, is subject to the provisions of the guidelines. 3.1.7 Koala legislation A search of the South East Queensland SPRP Koala Mapping found that the survey area does not lie within a Koala Assessable Development Area (KDA) and contains vegetation mapped as “Medium value rehabilitation” to the east and “Low value rehabilitation” to the west. 3.1.8 Koala tracker Koala tracker is a crowd sourced database of Koala sightings. The Koala tracker map shows a small number of Koala sighting records (both live and dead) along the Cooroy Noosa Road east and west of the Carramar site, and a further 20 sightings in the surrounding one kilometre radius. Some of these records are likely to be multiple sightings of the one individual however the distribution of sightings suggests that Koalas potentially traverse the parks within the Noosa Parklands area, including Lomandra Park, and the Cooroy Noosa Road. In addition, between October 2016 and February 2017, four individuals were sighted in Heritage Park and the Noosa Golf Club (Joan Heavey, pers.comm).
