Petition Request (Please outline the details and reasons for the petition)
No. of Signatories: 41
I ______________________________________________________________
Purpose of the Petition:
We, the undersigned, hereby respectfully request the Noosa Council
Installation of street light/s on pathway from Yellowood Close, Tewantin to Tewantin Sporting Fields. Small
playground is also part of the park that this pathway meanders through.
Further Details:
Pathway is one of THREE access points created by Council into the Tewantin Sporting Fields. These fields
service, Soccer, Netball, Pickleball, Tennis, Rugby League, Touch football, Baseball, Pony club. This pathway
also is utilized for other events re. Red hot summer concerts, Rodeos, Vintage car club days, 100km walfo'run/bike
race, the Circus and many other events during the years. Parking from overflow is always utilized in Yellowood
Close and Blackbutt Court, Tewantin through this access point.
This is a high safety risk to all community members. Families, women on their own accessing these sporting fields
that are there for community use are unsafe without lighting. Youths congregate, damage the park area and
playground, smash bottles, play in these areas because of no lighting.
Council approached 3 years ago and was told that it would need to be added to the budget.
State Government have confirmed that funding for lighting can be accessed by Council to instal, for the safety of
all concerned. ^^j^with'
in our streets, we have multiple disabilities in the community. Crossing
wheelchairs, visual impairments where lack of lighting is dangerous. /
