Dear Councilor Wilkie
re Proposed Service Station, Car Wash
Tourist Park etc Myall Street Cooroy
Although I am not from Cooroy, I do travel through that area
to my daughters home at Pomona.
I am amazed that this bushland (rural) corridor could be
considered for such a development that has been proposed. And,
as such, strongly oppose this application on a number of grounds
including;
1 With the existing retail centre on the western side
of the railway line, enjoying a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere,
this proposal would introduce an additional retail centre, and
risks destroying the present community ambience.
2 The litter on the roadside and its surrounds from
the fast food takeaway.
3 This site is part of the Lake Macdonald catchment,
and, as such, carries the likelyhood of impurities, chemicals
and litter ending up in our essential water storage catchment.
4 Would create a very poor visual effect for visitors
(and locals) entering the Noosa Shire from the northern reaches.
5 This area is zoned rural, and must remain as such.
