                                            belonging and are active participants in a rich
                                            community life.

                                            Theme 3: Prosperity

                                            Objective 3.6 - Grow and enhance the cultural
                                            and creative economy through partnerships and
                                            delivery of programs, events and the
                                            development of a signature regional art gallery.

                                            Theme 4: Future

                                            Objective 4.2 - Complete and implement the
                                            Destination Management Plan in partnership with
                                            the community and Tourism Noosa to protect
                                            Noosa’s quality of life, environment and iconic
                                            places through planning for sustainable visitation
                                            and events.

POLICY STATEMENT
Noosa Council (Council) recognises the important contribution events make to community life,
local business activity, cultural expression, placemaking and destination experiences across the
Shire. Council is committed to providing a consistent, transparent and proportionate framework
for the management, assessment and oversight of events conducted on Council-controlled land.

Events will be conducted and managed in a manner that:
     •   supports implementation of the Noosa Events Strategic Framework 2026-2031;
     •   balances community, environmental and economic outcomes;
     •   protects community access to public spaces;
     •   recognises the capacity of place;
     •   matches events to locations that are appropriate to their operational requirements and
         impacts;
     •   supports sustainable event delivery;
     •   encourages continuous improvement; and
     •   provides clear governance and decision-making arrangements.
