The site is mapped in the Koala priority area (KPA) and contains Koala habitat area (KHA) (Koala Conservation
Plan Map; administered by DES). Any development proposed on this site would need to meet the State Code
25: Development in South East Queensland koala habitat areas, unless the development meets the
exemptions.

There is a once off clearing exemption of 500m2. The development proposed the clearing of a total of 408m 2
to allow the construction of the dwelling (270m2), garage (90m2) and carport (48m2). The development meets
the exemption and therefore there is no requirement to assess the development against the State Code 25.

Vegetation Management Act 1999

The site is mapped as supporting regulated vegetation (Category B remnant) under the RVM map, however
vegetation clearing associated with the development is exempt clearing under the Planning Regulation 2017
(lot size is less than 5 ha).

There is no other State environmental legislation that would apply to this development.
