MCU15/0029 - PM Submission - Object -Wendy & Robert Dungey
Subject: Objection to re zoning of 18 Duke Street Sunshine Beach. 4567 From: Wendy Dungey Date: 2015-06-18T06:08:00+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail Re permit MCU15/0029 To whom it may concern. We wish to lodge an objection for the redevelopment of 18 Duke Street Sunshine Beach from office to restaurant. The grounds for our objection are 1. A massive increase in the noise levels especially at night. The area is already quite noisy due to the Backpacker hostel. And with alcohol involved, experience generally suggests noise levels rise significantly and long after 10pm. People under the influence of alcohol often do not think about noise and disturbance of others. 2. Car parking problems in the area which is already stretched in terms of parking at the moment. We have had people parking over our driveway already and find it very difficult to park our own cars anywhere on the street. 3. An increase in litter, rubbish. Many instances we come out in the mornings to find empty cans and bottles all over the front nature strip. Our front wall has been graffitied twice and the cover over our intercom broken twice. Which of course we have had to repair and make good at our own expense. With a big increase in people and with alcohol involved we are worried that this situation will only worsen. We love Sunshine Beach and thoroughly enjoy the village atmosphere and feel a cafe/restaurant in that part of the village is moving significantly into the residential area and will impact negatively and create many issues for the residents who like to live in the beautiful surrounds, without car parking problems and high noise levels especially at late hours. Yours faithfully Wendy and Robert Dungey "Mykonos" Unit 2/37 Duke Street Sunshine Beach. Sent from my iPad
