Ecological Assessment Report for Proposed Hinterland Adventure Playground – Noosa Shire Council
August 2109 by Noosa & District Landcare
Figure 6: A pair of Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo feeding on Banksia robur.
No Nocturnal bird calls were recorded.
For a detailed list of avian species on site please refer to Appendix C.
3.3.2 Reptile
No reptiles were observed on site. This could be due to seasonal timing as the temperature was cool
at the time of survey.
3.3.3 Amphibian
The single species of Litoria peronii (Peron’s Tree Frog/Emerald Spotted Tree Frog) was heard calling
but not sighted.
Please note that it is recommended further amphibian surveys be undertaken during the months of
December through to March after rain period, as this is the peak calling and breeding season with
environmental conditions at an optimum for frogs.
3.3.4 Small Mammals
A fore-paw print identified as a Trichosurus caninus (Short Eared Possum) was imprinted on the sand
plot. The infrared camera captured a Short Eared Possum (presumably the same individual) around
the sand plot (Figures 7,8, & 9).
