4.1.6 Views from Russell Street apartments
The most sensitive receptors are those in neighbouring units, whose balconies overlook the subject land,
particularly numbers 5-7 and 9 Russell Street. Glimpses between vegetation of the boatshed may also be
possible from 11 and 17 Russell Street, although intervening vegetation and buildings prevent most open views
to the subject land, and have not been evaluated further.
Viewpoint 7 Views from 5-7 Russell St (Riverhaven) –apartment 3 (First floor)
From the balcony of apartment 3, the existing part-built (2018) boatshed is visible on the skyline due to the low
angle of view (RL 5.569 m plus viewing height) (Figure 4-21). Although it comprises a part of a much wider
viewshed (including combinations of both natural and urban forms), the shed nonetheless forms a dominant
visual element as seen from this viewpoint. An earlier view from Unit 3 (c. 2011) suggests that intervening
vegetation on site helped screen the original boatshed, as well as most of the background views to the Noosa
River (Figure 4-20).
