PM Submission Object - Declan Sherman MCU16/0153 & REC0041
To whom it may concern, It is with great concern that | saw the Scanlon proposal for development behind the IGA. It shows a total lack of sensitivity of the Peregian Beach community and is in complete contravention of the Noosa Town Plan. This parcel of land should stay as a caravan park amenity which serves a needed purpose in the community. The Material Change of use Application will destroy our point of difference & as a resident of Peregian Beach is completely not in keeping with the area. Urban density is not required nor desirable in Peregian Beach. We clearly do not have the infrastructure to cope with urban density. It will increase pressure on our roads and public facilities in the area. It also sets a dangerous precedent for land subdivisions which this is. | also own land in Peregian Beach — does this mean | can break it up into smaller lots to sell off for urban housing? Where do we draw a line in the sand. There is no compliance with Noosa Council requirements with majority of the accommodation proposed for Permanent Housing. Peregian Beach is already surrounded by new small lot housing developments that lack public amenity, open space & village lifestyle which is a disgrace that it has been approved. The Peregian Breeze development is an absolute disgrace — they have shown no foresight for infrastructure, transport, traffic, greenscape — it is something you might see from the 1950s in town planning and is right on our doorstep. The Scanlon development also completely impinges on Noosa’s Master Plan for Rufous St renewal which is currently in progress, community amenity values & the extensive community consultation process intended to activate the Bush to Beach pathway upgrade & encourage increased usage. | urge Noosa Council to protect the village of Peregian Beach & to refuse this DA.
