Subject: Noosa Civic Expansion MCU14/0106 From: mary Date: 2015-07-14T00:23:05+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail Good morning Council My say on the proposed expansion of the Civic is YES PLEASE. The Civic in my view and many others I know is that it looks and has remained "an unfinished shopping centre". It is an ugly concrete build from its exterior approaches and entrances. No sign of being in a holiday and green and tropical environment. Awful. When inside, retail shopping is very limited. 1 hour there it's all over. 2 hours if you have a coffee or a meal. All very ordinary. The displays in the Civic of the new expansion looked very nice with the tropical dining area in particular. A Myer store would be very welcome in my view plus a proper Target store, not a Country Target. Myer would attract upmarket shoppers as we are talking of Noosa here. If I want Myer I have to drive from Black Mountain to Maroochydore where I would also do all my other shopping while there. I do not want to see Woolworths and Coles to dominate. An Aldi store would definitely be my choice on principal. We currently drive to Gympie from Black Mountain, as opposed to the terrible parking at their Noosaville store. Again, we do other shopping in their shopping centre, bigger than the current Civic. An Aldi please at the Civic. I am very mindful of the environment but when I have to drive a 100km round car trip to Maroochydore Plaza or even far more to North Lakes, it makes sense to have a decent and respectable shopping environment nearer in Noosa. I would like to see a new name from "Civic". How would visitors know that is our main shopping centre? Better signposting could be helpful. I'm in favour of the expansion. Many thanks.
