permanent residents for housing and local services. The proposed rezonings aim to increase
housing supply, reinforce residential neighbourhoods for permanent residents, and refocus the role
of certain centres to local services and permanent dwellings, as well as servicing visitors.

It should be noted the proposed amendments also rezone certain land in the Medium Density
Residential zone to Tourist Accommodation zone in recognition of the predominant short-term
accommodation use and visitor occupancy of established resorts.

Some site-specific submissions warrant a change to the proposed amendments which are outlined
in section 4.1 below, however most submissions did not warrant a change which are outlined in the
recommendation below.

Recommendation

It is recommended that no change be made to the proposed amendments as advertised outlined
below:

Rezone from Tourist Accommodation zone to High Density Residential zone:
