Risk & Opportunities
Council's endorsement of the proposed amendments implements the key recommendations of both
Noosa Housing Strategy and Short-term Accommodation Monitoring Report.
Should Council not proceed with proposed amendments there is a serious risk of no improvement
to housing supply, housing diversity and housing choice for Noosa residents and key workers. In
particular, any delay could result in the continued uptake of land for short term accommodation and
tourism related uses, at the expense of long term housing supply for residents contributing to the
housing crisis and residential amenity impacts currently being experienced by Noosa's community.
