Appendix E - Ecological Assessment Report
Ecological Assessment Report v1 NCES Ref: J000669 Lot 2 on RP131369 – 108 Black Mountain Range Road, Black Mountain Plate 8 – Queensland Waterways for Waterway Barrier Works GIS layer 3.8 EPBC Act Protected Matters Search Tool The EPBC Act Protected Matters Search Result identified that the following Matters of National Environmental Significance (MNES) have the potential to be present within a 2km radius of the site: · The ‘critically endangered’ Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia TEC; · 15 listed migratory species; · 13 listed threatened flora; and · 28 listed threatened fauna species. The EPBC Protected Matters Search uses bio-climatic modelling to predict where protected matters may be present in an area and therefore does not necessarily indicate the actual recorded presence of protected matters. 3.9 Surrounding Habitat and Connectivity Aerial imagery was reviewed to assess the extent of vegetation/habitat surrounding the site which has the potential to facilitate dispersal opportunities for flora and terrestrial fauna species (refer to Plate 9). The surrounding landscape contains a mosaic of cleared pastureland and vegetated corridors. The vegetation within the site exhibits direct connectivity with adjoining vegetation contained within neighboring allotments which provide east-west movement of fauna through the local landscape. © 2021 12
