We wish to lodge an objection in respect of the following proposed
development:

 

MCU14/0056

Mixed Use Development

125 Myall St Cooroy QLD 4563/  Lot 4 on SP248479

 

 

We are concerned with the extent of hardstand involved with the proposed
development and the resultant increased flood risk downstream to
residential properties in and around the Cooroy Creek flood plain and
also commercial properties in Cooroy township. 

 

Any developmental approval must require  that  there is no additional
runoff from the site in even the most severe of storm events. The event
that occurred in Cooroy in  2012 would be an appropriate basis.

 

The detention dam design should be  of the highest quality with generous
inbuilt contingency and assessed and signed off by an independent
hydrology engineer who is a specialist  in such works.
