Linke and Linke Surveys SLR Ref No: 620.31071-R01-v3.0-FEMP.docx Flood Emergency Management Plan February 2024 111 Lake Weyba Drive, Noosaville 3.3 Evacuation Route Figure 6 presents a long section profile of the proposed access/evacuation route to a non-isolated flood free area. Route topography was extracted from ALS data. The evacuation route from the site is to Eenie Creek Road via Lake Weyba Drive, Weyba Road and Reef Street. This route has a minimum elevation of approximately 1.5 m AHD along Weyba Road. It is noted that pedestrian and cycle traffic can escape to the same location via a much shorter route. The evacuation route is impacted by floodwaters originating from the Noosa River catchment in events greater than the 2% AEP flood event. Although velocities over the road are expected to be low, residents should not attempt to drive through stretches of inundated road. Based on the 1992 flood event, which was assessed as part of Council’s Noosa River flood model, once Lake Weyba Drive is closed, it is closed for more than 24 hours. Further, the rate of rise was such that in order to allow for 2 hours of evacuation time prior to any water over Lake Weyba Drive, the trigger level for evacuation should be 1.3 m AHD. A trigger level of 1.1 m AHD would allow for sufficient time to prepare for evacuation such that when the level of 1.3 m AHD is reached, evacuation can occur immediately. Page 11 36
