The gauges at Tewantin and Noosa Bar provide appropriate warning related to storm tide and Noosa River flood events. However, these gauges may not provide adequate warning for an event occurring in the Weyba Creek catchment. Whilst this type of event is likely to have a relatively short duration given the size of the catchment and the attenuating effect of Lake Weyba, it is recommended that a flood gauge be installed and managed by the Body Corporate for the development. Because of local site constraints, it is unlikely that this gauge can be installed directly on or adjacent to the site. However, it is expected that the gauge will be located along Lake Weyba Drive, on either land owned by the developer or through private agreement with another landowner. The gauge will provide local water levels which will be valuable for trigger levels for the emergency action plan. This gauge is discussed further in Section 6.3. Page 15 40
