REPORT
Current Temporary Local Planning Instrument
TLPI 02-2013:
sets the level of assessment for the clearing of protected vegetation, and
includes a code against which the clearing of protected vegetation is assessed.
A copy of TLPI 02-2013 is available within the Councillors Room.
At the current time any tree or vegetation removal on any freehold land within Noosa Shire is
subject to the provisions of TLPI 02-2013.
As there is no application fee involved in lodging an application it is not onerous for residents to
lodge an application. Further there are a number of exemptions listed within section 11 of TLPI
02-2013 which include:
clearing is permitted where a building approval has been granted; or
a fence is being installed; or
there is an emergency situation; or
the vegetation is within the path of a utility service; or
clearing is in the course of a forest practice or fire management activity, etc.
