16 May 2023 To the Mayor of Noosa Ms Clare Stewart * Email: [email protected] Post: Noosa shire Council PO Box 141 Tewantin QLD 4565 And Member for Noosa Ms Sandy Bolton MP Email: [email protected] P O Box 1447 Noosaville BC QLD 4566 To the mayor of Noosa Ms Clare Stewart and member for Noosa Ms Sandy Bolton, We as concerned citizens are requesting immediate action to find a solution to the increasing parking problem that affects (but is not limited to) Quamby Place in Noosa Heads. Parking has always been problematic within Quamby Place due to small numbers of carparking spaces, however it is increasingly being used as long term parking facility for trailers (boat and car) and Van operated style businesses that operate elsewhere when hired. (paddleboard, food and coffee vans etc...) This usage makes it impossible for clients, visitors, staff and locals that frequent businesses within the buildings of Quamby place to utilise the parking for what is was strategically planned for. In our Business alone we have had innumerable and often angry complaints due to the lack of public parking. This frustration has seen many people parking illegally, perilously blocking the centre turn area of the road (see photos attached) double parking and parking other vehicles in.

Some Public solutions / suggestions we have had thus far include — “Utilise Nancy Cato park for parking of trailers - just as council did during rectification works of Noosa parade” “Council should charge boat owners a small fee to store their trailers in a secure convenient industrial facility, this would also raise funds to maintain boat ramps” “Make Quamby place a day parking area only so no “long term” usage would be allowed” We have asked concerned citizens to sign a parking solution petition to prompt action, Please find our signed petition attached, we look forward to your earliest response and help in finding an amicable solution. PARKING SOLUTION PETITION: To the Mayor of Noosa Ms Clare Stewart and the member for Noosa Sandy Bolton MP We the undersigned concerned citizens actively seek a solution to the parking issues that affect Quamby place Noosa Heads. It is currently used a long term parking area for a multitude of Boat and car trailers and businesses that operate recreation services from their vehicles (stand up paddle / kayak) Making it impossible for clients, Staff and locals frequenting Businesses within the buildings to utilize the parking. This long term issue is in accordance with the planning for the delivery of services and strategic planning for the future that embodies the Council and we look forward to your Solution.
