Stormwater Quality Management
The applicant’s proposed stormwater management system has been reviewed by an external
consultant on behalf of Council officers who concluded that the system is acceptable. However,
the proposed treatment system is for a proprietary device for lot 1, which is contrary to the Noosa
Plan’s Water Sensitive Design Code, which requires the use of natural water quality treatments
and systems. Stormwater Australia and the wider industry has not yet accepted this type of
system as an effective stormwater quality management system for this area. Therefore, it is
considered the proposed stormwater quality management system does not meet Noosa Plan
requirements and the development may adversely impact on the downstream ecosystem due to
changes in water quality.
