State and Local Government Ecological Assessment
Noosa Civic Expansion

1 Introduction
1.1 Study Area
Cardno was commissioned to undertake a technical assessment and report on the ecological values of the
Noosa Civic site to accompany a development application (DA). Specifically the study focussed on values
regarded of significance under State laws and/or local government instruments that could potentially be
impacted by the clearing, construction and proposed use of the extension of Noosa Civic. Cardno’s opinions
as contained in this report are given to the best of our professional knowledge at this time and are
independently formulated based on best practice methodology and expertise in the environmental field (refer
to CV’s in Appendix A).
The proposed expansion of Noosa Civic is located at 28 Eenie Creek Road, Noosaville on Queensland’s
Sunshine Coast. The Study Area for the purpose of the technical assessment and reporting incorporates
areas identified as the disturbance footprint and the balance of Lot 3 on SP246584 (Figure 1).

1.2 Project Description
The proposed development is an extension of Noosa Civic.
The Study Area is within Noosa Shire local government area and the applicable Planning Scheme is the
Noosa Plan 2006.

1.3 Study Aims and Objectives
The aim of this study is to identify and describe the existing terrestrial environment (flora and fauna) of the
Study Area with regard to ecological values at a Local and State level. Impact and mitigation to identified
values are also described.
