The application seeks approval to utilise 4 – 8 Lower Mill Road Cooroy for Transport Type 2 -
Carpark.
22 car spaces are to be provided within Lower Mill Road area. These are proposed to the northern
side of the site and are in addition to the existing car parking spaces to the front of the community
buildings.
The carpark within Lower Mill Road will be complemented by an additional 34 car parking spaces
within the surrounding road reserve. No development approval is required for the establishment
of car parking within the road reserve under The Noosa Plan 2006. This involves 12 new parking
spaces on the western side of Maple Street (as well as a new zebra crossing on Maple Street) and
22 new parking spaces on the southern side of Mary River Road west of the existing tennis courts.
This results in a total of 56 new parking spaces to service the car parking demands of the
playground.
The 22 new Mary River Road parking spaces are proposed initially to be grassed, and defined
using log fencing, reflective indicators, and signage. If they are found to be well used then those
Mary River Road parking spaces are proposed to be sealed and line-marked in the future.
The following images detail the location of the additional car parking again noting that only the 22
spaces opposite the community buildings at 4 – 8 Lower Mill Road require approval and are subject
to this application.
