5.2 State Government Supported Infrastructure – Koala Conservation
Policy – 2023

This report has determined that the following points are relevant to the Landfill expansion site:

    •    Within mapped Koala Priority Area
    •    Within mapped Locally refined Koala Habitat Area
    •    Defined as “infrastructure” as per Schedule 5 of the Planning Regulation 2017
    •    Council is a Queensland public sector entity and must deliver on the requirements of
         Column 1 of Table 1 in the policy.
    •    If the works do not meet an exemption or transitional provision in Column 2, then the
         project requires a self-assessment of the proposed works against the Self-Assessment
         Criteria in Column 3 of Table 1, and if relevant, Table 2.
As a result an assessment to determine if the works can occur in accordance with Column 1,
whether there is exemption for the works, and if not a self-assessment against Column 3 has
been undertaken in Tables 6 and 7.
