Dear Sir/Madam
Re: OPW24/0098 ~ Lot 12 N 10576, 25 Wyuna Drive, Noosaville
We have reviewed Noosa Council’s request for information dated 29 July 2024 and provide our response to the
Engineering related items.
Issue:
The submitted Geotechnical Investigation Report does not fully address the potential for acid
sulfate soils or groundwater and section 8 of the report provides preliminary comments only.
Information Required
3. Provide an amended Geotechnical Investigation Report that includes site specific
recommendations to address/control the sites potential for acid sulfate soils and
groundwater.
Response
Please see attached letter from the geotechnical engineer. The existing dwelling restricts access for a drilling rig
to conduct testing in further locations, as the dwelling is currently occupied it is nonviable for the client to demolish
the existing dwelling (leaving the site vacant) prior to development approval and detailed building design. Further
testing has been commissioned and we request this information be conditioned prior to any earthworks
commencing on site.
Issue:
Council has concerns with the potential for the proposed works to impact on the groundwater levels in the
area and impact on the structural integrity of building and structures on the adjoining properties.
Information Required
5. Provide a report that is prepared by a suitably qualified person that considers the potential impacts
of the proposed works on the groundwater levels in the area and includes recommendations to
maintain the structural integrity of building and structures on the adjoining properties
Response
The dewatering methodology proposed will consist of dewatering spears installed to the inside the proposed
concrete piled retention (cut-off) wall this will generally maintain groundwater levels outside the proposed piling
