To Sunshine Coast Council Members
Do you know that there is currently an application to redevelop the present site of the Noosa Bowls Club (1.6 hectares)?
The developer, Coles Group Property, proposes that an area zoned ‘community services’  which has been used for recreation for 42 years be rezoned to build a tavern, a liquor store, shops, 26 units and a commercial education facility. A new road/bigger roundabout is to be built with land from Pinaroo Rotary Park, removing established vegetation and impacting significantly on traffic volume, flow and type.
The application is therefore a significant change of land use and has been made to the Sunshine Coast Council, with objections closing by Friday October 18th.
Our Community Group invite you to come and visit  the area, have a look at the site and see for yourself the way Pinaroo Park and the present Bowls Club site will be impacted.
We ask that you support us in our belief that the proposals should be submitted to the new Noosa Council in 2014. To say that building a pub, shops and units is not a significant shift away from an historical use of a recreation and Parkland site needs greater community consultation and consideration.
We ask for your support in these matters and that you reject the current proposals. Thank You.
