3. Details of Submission
I (We), make the following submission: I object strongly to the proposed development application at 8 McKenna
Court Noosaville for the following reasons:
McKenna Court is a residential street and there is already limited parking in the street. Any development
approval for a home based business - swimming pool, would severely affect the parking for residents and
visitors which would add more stress to the existing parking situation in the court. If the development
application is approved, it would severely increase traffic to the area and entering McKenna Court which is a very
quiet residential culdesac. Any traffic entering must exit the Court the same way. This additional traffic could
generate severe bottleneck, safety and parking concerns. There are many elderly people living in the street and
other elderly citizens visit the area walking through to the facilities provided in the library precinct. There would
also be an increase in noise levels which would be very concerning for those elderly citizens as well as the other
residents, and the increased traffic flow would also intensify the likelihood of accidents and injuries to people.
The choice to live in this area is due to the peaceful environment and residential nature of the area. If this
development application is approved, it is likely to have a negative affect on the values which are held dear to the
local residents and the Noosa Council.
