EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Property Officer to the Services & Organisation Committee
Meeting dated 11 December 2018 and:
A. Set fees and charges for the Noosa Holiday Parks to align with the cessation of the end of
the July 2020 Queensland school holidays; and
B. Adopt the Proposed General Cost Recovery Fees and Commercial Charges schedule for
Noosa Holiday Parks for the period ending Monday 12 July 2020 as detailed in the tables
contained within the report.
REPORT
Current fees and charges for the Noosa Holiday Parks apply until the end of the summer peak
season on 30 January 2020. Council maintains an ‘advance’ fees and charges schedule for the
parks to allow for forward booking of sites by customers. Twice yearly Council reviews and amends
the fees as required to maintain the forward booking period. The purpose of this report is to propose
the adoption of fees and charges for a further 6 months to the end of the June - July 2020 school
holiday period.
In summary the following changes are reflected in the revised fees and charges schedule for
consideration:
Table 1:
Noosa River Holiday Park, Boreen Point and Noosa North Shore Campground tariffs are
proposed to increase by 1.7% - 6.7% (where indicated in Table 1), which is reflective of an
increasing cost base (inflation and other increases relating to contract services in addition to
utility cost increases).
Table 2:
Washing machine charges – charges are proposed to increase from $4 to $5.
All other charges remain unchanged.
Due to Council’s planned upgrade of the Noosa North Shore Beachfront Campground, forward
bookings after April 2019 have been suspended however the ‘advance’ fees and charges schedule
is proposed to be adopted for the period from the expected late 2019 reopening until the end of
the June - July 2020 school holiday period. A pricing review will be undertaken once the
redevelopment is completed and full cost pricing outcomes are finalised. A full fee review is also
proposed for the Noosa River Holiday Park and this will consider appropriate market comparison
pricing and consideration of user pays energy pricing to reduce consumption.
