Thirdly, the proposed ATCAG will be managed by Byron Shire Council and much of its success
will be dependent upon the effectiveness of that Council in bringing together different perspectives
and driving a common agenda. ATCAG will not, at this stage, be a separate incorporated
association but rather, be managed out of Byron Shire Council with membership fees going
towards secretariat costs.
Given that there is a relatively low membership cost, it may be beneficial in joining to have a “seat
at the table” and to continue our membership if ATCAG makes good progress. Obviously, if it
doesn’t, we can withdraw our membership after an appropriate period. Similarly, we can withdraw
our membership if there is any request for a cost contribution that we do not agree with.
