INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 22 JULY 2014

2. Background

Implemented in May 2010 by Sunshine Coast Council, Council Cabs is funded by the Public
Transport Levy.

The Council Cabs services grew in numbers until mid- 2013. Due to staff changes at that time,
Council Cabs has not been actively promoted since mid-2013, and passenger numbers have
remained static as a result.

From January 2014 Council Cabs has continued to be funded by the Public Transport Levy and
managed by Noosa Council’s Planning and Infrastructure Department, however, there has been
no further promotion of Council Cabs.
