Report

As a part of the induction program following the March 2016 Local Government elections, two
workshops were held with the new Noosa Councillors to discuss in detail the Noosa Shire Local
Economic Plan which had been adopted by the previous Council at its December 2015 round of
meetings.

It was agreed at the conclusion of these workshops to include the Education and Training Sector
as a priority industry sector in the Local Economic Plan (see Attachment 1), along with Tourism,
Digital Economy, Health and Wellness, Rural Enterprise, Creative Industries, Environmental
Industries and Professional Services.

A program of high level actions for the Education and Training Sector has been identified and
included in the Local Economic Plan Action Plan (see Attachment 2).
