EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Community Development Coordinator to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 8 November 2016 and approve the 2016/2017 ‘out of
round’ Festive Season Event grant recommendations as set out in Attachment 1 to the report.
REPORT
1. Purpose
The purpose of this report is for Council to consider and endorse the ‘out of round’ Festive Season
Event grant recommendations as set out in Attachment 1 of this report.
2. Background
In June 2016, Council approved 7 applications for 3 years funding under the Festive Season
Events program with $35,400 funding allocated per year.
There were no applicants in that round seeking to fund the traditional Peregian Beach Christmas
Carol or Noosa Marina New Year’s Eve events, both of which had previous funding from Noosa
Council.
Subsequently, post June 2016, eligible community organisations were encouraged to discuss and
apply for funding to hold the Festive Season Events in these two locations.
3. Out of Round Applications
Two eligible applications have been received in regards to the Peregian Beach Christmas Carol or
Noosa Marina New Year’s Eve events and have been assessed by the specialist officer.
The Community Development Co-ordinator is recommending that the two applications receive total
funding of $8,500 funding from the Festive Season Event Grant Program (three year funding) as
per Attachment 1.
