The two Project Coordinators positions are technical by design and will provide increased project
management skills within the organisation. The provision of these additional resources will assist
with the delivery of designs for the current capital works program and provide support in delivering
Council’s ongoing Capital works programmes.

It is recommended to advertise externally for both positions in order to ensure that the roles are
filled with individuals who have direct civil design and construction project experience.

Finance & Risk
The funding of these two positions was discussed with the Leadership Team and will be funded
from capitalised staff budgets already provided for in the 2016/17 capital works programme.
Council’s strategic risk register identifies poor workforce planning as a moderate risk which can
result in loss of corporate knowledge, financial risk, decreased service delivery, decreased staff
morale, decreased productivity, and have significant training implications.
