Noise Report 54 Boronia Road MCU17-0546
Allstar Metal Fabrication Environmental Noise Level Impact Assessment of Metal Fabrication Business, 54 Boronia Road, Cootharaba Page 3 of 17 Noise Limit Criteria In accordance with the Noosa Plan 2006: S53.2 Noise from the business is not audible beyond the site boundaries; S53.3 All noise emanating plant and equipment associated with the business is enclosed or located at least 200m from adjoining houses. AMBIENT NOISE LEVELS, MONITORING LOCATION B Table 1 details the range and average ambient noise levels at Monitoring Location B (eastern side of the residence at 46 Boronia Road, Cootharaba) with the microphone elevated 1.6 metres above ground level. The results of this ambient noise assessment are representative of the ambient noise levels at all nearby residences, with no noise of Allstar Metal Fabrication audible at any time (noise logger located on the opposite side of the residence to Allstar Metal Fabrication). For details of measurement equipment, equipment settings, monitoring location and atmospheric conditions for the weekdays and weekend, refer Appendix A, whilst Appendix B details all of the key parameter results of the ambient noise level measurements. With respect to noise the following should be noted: daytime: 0700 to 1800 hours; evening: 1800 to 2200 hours; night-time: 2200 to 0700 hours; ‘A’ weighted: adjustment made by the sound level meter to the measured noise to correspond to the response of the human ear. This adjustment is standardised by international noise standards; LAeq,T: the equivalent continuous (or approximately the ‘average’) ‘A’ weighted sound pressure level for the measurement period ‘T’; LA1,T: the ‘A’ weighted sound pressure level exceeded for 1% of the measurement period ‘T’; LA10,T: the ‘A’ weighted sound pressure level exceeded for 10% of the measurement period ‘T’, which is an approximation of the ‘average of the maximum noise levels’; LA90,T: the ‘A’ weighted sound pressure level exceeded for 90% of the measurement period ‘T’, which is an approximation of the ‘average of the minimum noise levels’, which is also known as the ‘background’ noise level.
