INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES DEPARTMENT PROCEDURE – EMERGENCY ACCESS NOOSA SPRINGS
The first option is not ideal as a long term solution due to safety concerns for traffic turning straight
onto Eenie Creek Road and may only be used short term under traffic control while the second
option is being upgraded to accommodate two way traffic.
PROCEDURE
1. Open the gate and remove bollards at Girraween Sports Complex to create an
alternate access route for vehicles.
2. Implement necessary traffic control measures to allow contra-flow of traffic along
alternate route.
3. Install detour signage.
4. Within 48 hours, remove grass and widen the track to allow for two way traffic.
5. Open to traffic and monitor the condition of the access through Girraween Sports
complex.
6. Maintain as necessary.
7. Inform the community through posting the information on Council’s website and on
social media via its Facebook page.
WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY
All staff must comply with Council’s workplace health and safety requirements.
