3.       DESIGN OBJECTIVES
The objective of this report is to demonstrate that the project can comply with the Noosa Shire Council’s
codes and policies in relation to stormwater management through the implementation of the following
objectives;

     •   Maintain stormwater quality in accordance with local and state policies
     •   Manage and Mitigate quantities of peak stormwater discharge
     •   Adopt Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles throughout
     •   Stormwater Harvesting and re-use for landscaping and alternative uses
     •   Provide immunity and resilience from flooding

This report outlines the design requirements to achieve the above objectives in a site-specific context.


4.       STORMWATER STRATEGY
The site is situated between Myall Street on the East and existing residential to the North, South and West.
The extent of the western catchment is bounded by Maple Street.

The upstream existing allotments are rear falling and grade to the East towards our site identified as an
existing external catchment.

It is proposed that this catchment is collected within a new swale drain, with additional pits and pipes to
convey this external catchment along the developments Western and Northern boundary directly discharging
the flow to Myall Street Road Reserve bypassing the site. The pit and pipe infrastructure will reduce the
amount of surface flow entering the Myall Street Road Reserve; and provide increased capture capacity to
the existing kerb lintels in proximity of the site frontage. Refer Plate 2 below for a diagram of the external
site catchments.
