Subject: rt BCS 1192 Notice of Submission MCU 13/0087 From: Marie Date: 2013-10-17T10:01:02+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council I wish to make the following comments in relation to the Coles Group Property Development application - A) the proposal should not be approved as it is well outside the Noosa Plan whereby current zoning is Community Services - the change by Coles for a tavern, liquor store, shops and units does not fit this criteria at all B) In addition all these commercial services are already available in the Junction and in nearby Noosaville - why would our community need similar services? What impact would these duplications have on existing businesses? More of the same doesn't always increase competition and lower costs especially when the owner is Coles - a massive duopoly company that is already squeezing out smaller community providers in so many areas - groceries, fuel, liquor etc C) Coles should not have be able to pay a 'non-commercial' price for the land at a low price and now expect to be able to commercialise the whole site c) I oppose the proposed removal of land, trees and vegetation from Pinaroo Park to accommodate the required access road for the development. There is also no social impact statement on the loss of public recreational space - a high value in the Noosa community D) This is a significant application that will have long term Implications for the area - consequently the final decision should rest with the new Noosa Shire Council Thank you Marie Lewis Sunshine Beach Sent from Marie's iPhone 2 u!
