This weed control method is applicable to weeds which have their growing points below the surface of the ground (corms, bulbs, rhizomes, clumped or
fibrous root systems, etc. eg. asparagus, Chlorophytum comosum and grasses)
Grasp the leaves or stems and hold them tightly so that the base of the plant is visible. Plants with sharp leaves or stems should be cut back
first
© Insert the knife close to the base of the plant at a slight angle, with the tip well under the root system
Cut through the roots close to the base. Depending on the size of the plant, two or more cuts may be needed to sever all the roots.
* Remove the plant, Make sure that the base of the plant where the roots begin is completely removed.
