INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 NOVEMBER 2014
As a result of the active promotion of both the facility and the region by the NAC’s Coaching
Contractors, we have welcomed Willoughby (26 athletes) and Abbotsleigh (42 athletes) Swim
Clubs, their coaching staff and families during September. They provided a boost to the NAC’s
revenue.
3. People
Recruitment of seasonal casual employees has been finalised. These staff, who are employed as
Instructors for Learn to Swim and as Pool Attendants (Lifeguards), are required to deliver the
service during the peak time from October until the Easter school holidays.
Training is an essential and ongoing part of the NAC’s operation with Pool Attendants recently
completing their annual Lifeguard accreditation and Instructors annually updating their CPR
qualification as required.
4. Systems & Processes
Automatic Payment has been introduced for the NAC’s Learn to Swim Program. The benefits of
this system have been widely appreciated and will continue to provide a simpler and more cost
effective way of administering the program, while delivering a more convenient payment method
for customers.
Work continues with the Community Engagement Branch to enhance the existing co-branding of
NAC promotional material.
5. Future Direction
A review of Fitness Studio is scheduled for the second quarter to address the replacement of
ageing equipment and to determine the best operating model for its future.
Capital Works totalling $20,000 are planned for the ageing Sunshine Beach Skate Park.
Consultation between NAC Co-ordinator, Project Officer Infrastructure and users of the facility
have taken place during Quarter 1 with a trial of the Brick N Pave product scheduled to occur on
the small half pipe during Quarter 2.
