6.0       Local planning context
The subject site is located within the Noosa Shire Council Local Government Area ad is subject to the provisions of
the Noosa Plan 2006.


          Zoning
The site is identified within the Open Space Recreation zone and Noosaville Local Plan Area as indicated in Figure
14. The purpose of the Open Space Recreation zone code is to provide for community-related space, uses and
activities and facilities.

          Definition
Pursuant to Part 2 of the Planning Scheme, the proposal for a new building on the site is defined as a “Service and
Utility – Type 1 Depot” and defined below.

    Service and Utility: means any premises used for the delivery of a public service not otherwise defined. The term
    includes the following types:

    Type 1 – Depot: The use of premises for a depot or station for conduct of the daily business of a local government,
    State government, statutory authority or telecommunications company, in supplying a public service or utilities. It
