MCU14/0056 PM Submission Object - Albert Hyatt
For the Chief Executive Officer.
Please consider my objection to the proposed service station on Myall St
Cooroy.
My name is Albert Hyatt. 13 Miva St Cooroy. This address is not impacted by
the proposed development.
The Saunders/Havell groups lengthy Town Plan naturally supports the Myall
St service station development. It has to admit that in their opinion there
reasons not to approve this development but the positives outweigh the
negatives. I and I am sure, many of Cooroy residents love to show off our
beautiful Town to travellers" though not to the discomfort of the Townsfolk.
Approval for this development should not be considered without a full traffic
assessment from Transport@ Main Roads.
My personal opinion for what it carries, there are too many activities proposed
in the one location, with two future development sites available, who knows
McDonalds/Hungry Jacks.
Access into Cooroy will be impacted there is no doubt. We have to ask
ourselves giving a couple of dozen grey nomads an impression of our Town, is
it worth it.
The proposed Town Plan suggests that most of the trade will be from the Bruce
Hwy so it makes sense to access the proposed development from the Bruce
Hwy. I thought that is what Town Planners were hired for making sensible
considerations.
I am sure there many environmental issues I could raise but will leave those
comments to the better qualified among us.
The CARAgroup I observed at the first meeting at the Cooroy Hall seem very
dedicated in their concern for the protection of Cooroy if only a little docile, I
hope that this proposed development will get the scrutiny it deserves. Yours
faithfully,
Albert [ Bert) Hyatt.
