§ Wy RVEYOR Director Brian Naismith Bach Applied Science (Surveying) Consulting Cadastral Surveyor Preferred Condition 17 ~ Removal of existing trees and vegetation Approved vegetation removal, felling and fopping must: a) b) Be undertaken in a manner that avoids damaging surrounding vegetation and habitat to be retained. Retain old growth tree hollows and suitably relocate and distribute for nesting fauna. Stockpile timber logs for transportation and/or milling. Mulch ail ether wood and leaf material (without roct balls, soil or debris and minimising weed seec's) for re-usable mutch. Have mutch for re-use in landscape or rehabilitation stockpiled and aged for a minimum of three months. Have mulch stockpiles no larger than 1000m3, 2.5m in height and with 10m separation between piles. After under scrubbing of each area is complete, non-habitat trees (i.e. trees other than thase identified as habitat trees) will be cleared and stockpiled for mulching. Clearing of non-habitat trees wil! only occur where their removal will not impact on identified habitat trees (e.g. canopies do not interconnect with habitat trees). Stancling timber to be cleared on the subject site includes trees with trunks varying in diameter from <150rnm to a metre or more. As condition 17 is currently worded, felled logs will need to be mulched. We deem the condition needs amendment to allow usable logs to be milled, thus making best use of the felled tirmoer.
