d. MUSIC Model Results
Using the MUSIC software the individual treatment trains for each of the four catchment areas
were designed to comply with the water quality objectives (WQO). It was determined that the
water quality objectives for the whole proposed development where met as shown in the
table below:
Pre- Post- Reduction Complying
POLLUTANT TYPES
Development Development (%) With WQO
Total Suspended Solids (kg/yr) 19500 1710 91.2
Total Phosphorus (kg/yr) 37.9 13.0 65.8
Total Nitrogen (kg/yr) 205 112 45.3
Litter/gross pollutants (kg/yr) 1140 0.03 100.0

Pre- Post- Reduction Complying
POLLUTANT TYPES
Development Development (%) With WQO
Total Suspended Solids (kg/yr) 19600 3300 83.1
Total Phosphorus (kg/yr) 38.0 15.0 60.4
Total Nitrogen (kg/yr) 204 105 48.5
Litter/gross pollutants (kg/yr) 1140 0 100.0

Pre- Post- Reduction Complying
POLLUTANT TYPES
Development Development (%) With WQO
Total Suspended Solids (kg/yr) 19500 989 94.9
Total Phosphorus (kg/yr) 37.9 10.3 72.8
Total Nitrogen (kg/yr) 205 75.9 62.9
Litter/gross pollutants (kg/yr) 1140 0 100.0
Table 5.11: Total Water Quality Treatment Results
As shown by the above results, the proposed stormwater treatment train adopts best practise
stormwater treatment and will achieve the required Water Quality Objectives even if one of
the two treatment measures should fail.
