Traffic

Top Forestry Rd is a narrow winding blind corners dirt road. I have travelled over this road for over 20 years taking newspapers etc to a long term resident on Top Forestry Rd who does not drive. She lives just around the corner from Milligans. With increased residential homes along top Forestry Rd, one must hug the corners, regardless of the hour, because there is much more traffic. Many times I have come to a stop because if there is a big vehicle eg: Bus or Truck, there just isn’t the room to move. And that is just Top Forestry Rd! There is much concern with trucks coming along Belli Creek Road and through town. Blind corners and narrow roads caue many near misses, not to mention cutting corners, trucks as well as cars do this.

Water

We exist on tank water and can put up with possum and bird poo but not the constant overlay of chicken dust coming from the Broiler Farm and pounded into dust from trucks coming along road. My Husband is an asthmatic. The dust is very fine as the ground is clay.

Smell

The smell from the farm and dead chickens will easily travel, sharing the same wind as the dust. Smoke lingers in the air for a very long time so cannot see that this stench won’t. Great in summer!

Rainfall

Good to keep chicken droppings dampened down so less dust. No good with excess rainfall as it washes into creeks.

Bottom Line – Cost a Fortune to upgrade the road for 1 person.
