I was recently made aware of this proposed development at The Hastings in Noosa.

Over several years I have enjoyed coming to stay at The Hastings and enjoy being able to
stay in a private beach house style accommodation. The scale of each of the beach houses I
have stayed in is perfect and my family and friends have always enjoyed the amenity of the
complex.

I have always admired the way that each beach house has taken advantage of its site
location and ensured privacy from the adjoining neighbours and houses.

I am concerned that the rooftop terrace with its hot tub and outdoor kitchen will overlook
neighbouring properties which detracts from guest amenity. The increased risk of noise
either from the hot tub itself and/or use of the outdoor dining function on the roof seems
likely to increase noise across the complex – sound travels - particularly in the evenings. As
a frequent visitor, I am concerned as to how this will impact on my enjoyment when staying
in the complex.

Being located in the centre of the complex, directly onto the main driveway, I feel the
current design dominates the look and feel of The Hastings; the plans show a very dominant
and imposing structure.

Whilst I can see that the proposed development is very modern in its style and aesthetic, I
feel the scale and dimensions are out of keeping with the complex as a whole. Indeed, the
scale seems more applicable to a residential house than a holiday beach house in the
Hastings Street precinct.
