Table 1 Weeds found during site survey

Biological Name

Common Name

Location

Removal Method

Ageratum houstonianum

Blue Billy Goat Weed

Various location in isolated infestations throughout the site

Small infestations can be hand picked or or larger infestation can be treated using
a backpack sprayer with Glyohosate 360 at manufacturer's recommended rates

Asparagus aethiopicus

Asparagus Fern

Small infestations in various locations in isolated infestations
throughout the site

Small infestations can be controlled by removing above ground parts and digging
up rhizomes and tubers, where practicable, with continued monitoring of any
regrowth. Prevention of flowering is vital in existing stands as once seeds are set,
control of their dispersal by birds is impossible.

Bidens pilosa

Cobbler’s Pegs

Various location in isolated infestations throughout the site
particularly adjacent to Girraween Crt and along the bike path

Small infestations can be hand picked or larger infestation can be treated using a
backpack sprayer with Glyphosate 360 at manufacturer's recommended rates.
Seed pods should be removed and bagged prior to treatment

Cenchrus echinatus

Mosman River Grass

Various location in isolated infestations throughout the site
particularly adjacent to Girraween Crt and along the bike path

Small infestations can be hand picked or larger infestation can be treated using a
backpack sprayer with using Glyphosate 360 at manufacturer's recommended
rates. Follow up treatment is recommended.

Euphorbia cyathophora

Painted Spurge

Various location in isolated infestations throughout the site
particularly adjacent to Girraween Crt and along the bike path

Small infestations can be hand picked or larger infestation can be treated using a
backpack sprayer with using Glyohosate 360 at manufacturer's recommended
rates. Follow up treatment is recommended.

Macrotyloma axillare

Archer axillaries

Small infestations in various locations in isolated infestations
throughout the site particularly adjacent to Girraween Crt

Small infestations can be controlled by removing above ground parts and digging
up rhizomes and tubers, where practicable, with continued monitoring of any
regrowth. Prevention of flowering is vital in existing stands as once seeds are set,
control of their dispersal by birds is impossible.

Megathyrsus maximum

Guinea Grass

Various location through cleared areas of the site

Small infestations can be hand picked or larger infestation can be treated using a
backpack sprayer with using Glyphosate 360 at manufacturer's recommended
rates. Follow up treatment is recommended.

Sphagneticola trilobata

Singapore Daisy

Isolated infestations throughout the site particularly adjacent to
Girraween Crt and along the bike path

Small infestations can be hand picked but care should be taken to remove the
entire plant including stems and shoots as the plant will regrow from the smallest
segment of plant remaining or larger infestation can be treated using a backpack

sprayer with using metsulfuron-methyl
(600 g/L) at 10 g per 100 L water plus wetting agent.

Follow up treatment is recommended.
