SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 JULY 2021
Three Year Management and Maintenance of Halls and Centres
Council implemented a three-year Management and Maintenance of Halls and Centres funding
program for eligible community organisations to assist them undertake ongoing operational and or
maintenance of Council owned Halls and Community Centres in July 2015. This was renewed with
no change in 2018.
Council now has to consider whether or not to continue this program for a further three years. These
agreements are by invitation only rather than a through a competitive process as per the Community
Grants program.
The amount of funding is determined by a formula and organisations are required to provide an
annual acquittal of their grant.
Staff are recommending no change to the organisations receiving Management and Maintenance of
Halls and Centres funding in previous years and a CPI increase over the previous year’s funding
levels.
Recipients of Three-Year Maintenance Agreements are ineligible for Three-Year Community
Alliance Agreements and Three Year Signature Community Event Grants.
Community Alliance Grants
Council provides financial support for up to three years to not for profit incorporated community
organisations whose services provide significant benefit to the Noosa community (beyond their
membership); demonstrate value for money; and closely align with Council’s strategic goals and
identified key initiatives.

applications for Community Alliance funding have been by invitation only. A new round of
expressions of interest for this grants program was called for early 2021 with funding being offered
for one year.
Staff are recommending two new Alliance Agreements to be being offered for one year to Youturn
Limited and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Conference effective 1 July, 2021. Additionally, the
Alliance Agreement For Sunny Kids Inc. in Cooroy is recommended to increase and the Alliance
Agreement for Noosa Community Training Centre Inc. extended for one year.

Maintenance Agreements and Three-Year Signature Community Event Grants.
