                                                                                                                     Native Foresters

                    The area surveyed contains a patch of unmapped high value regrowth vegetation with
                    scattered remnant trees in the western parcel. It is mapped as Category X vegetation and
                    as such is exempt from requirements under vegetation management laws. Vegetation in
                    the eastern parcel is also predominantly mapped as Category X, and while an area around
                    its northern margin is mapped as remnant, the flora survey found that it consists of relatively
                    young regrowth with most trees having a diameter at breast height (dbh) of < 200mm with
                    a weed-dominated understorey.

                    The western parcel is surrounded by remnant wet sclerophyll woodland to the north and
                    south and is separated from a drier sclerophyll woodland on a volcanic intrusion to the west
                    by the Eumundi Noosa Road. The eastern parcel also has remnant wet sclerophyll on its
                    northern side and includes an ephemeral drain that discharges into a wetland to the east of
                    the site. The southern end of the drain contains an area of surface water behind a concrete
                    barrier.

                    Existing impacts to the ecological integrity of the site include:

                          i)        Historic vegetation clearing approximately 30 years ago;
                          ii)       Significant infestations of Singapore daisy;
                          iii)      Litter, stormwater runoff and noise pollution from adjacent waste depot and road;
                          iv) Edge effects (e.g., light, wind) due to narrow linear patch configuration.

                    1.3          Proposed works

                    Noosa Council is proposing to upgrade the NLRRC. This preliminary environmental scoping
                    precedes the concept design phase. The extent of vegetation clearing, detailed design,
                    timing or duration of works is still to be confirmed.

                    1.4          Limitations of this report

                    The Protected Plants Flora Survey is valid for 12 months from the date of report completion.
                    If a period of more than 12 months has elapsed since the date of report completion, the
                    survey and report will need to be updated prior to submission to DESI.
