OBJECTION TO PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AT 37 GIBSON ROAD,
NOOSAVILLE BY MARQUETTE PROPERTIES.
Planning application MCU10/2083
Dear Sir/Madam,
As a residential block owner at 3/ 6 Stillwater Place, Noosaville, I wish to lodge my
objection to the above proposed shopping complex development.
My property shares a common boundary fence with this proposed development, and my
objections are for the following reasons.
1. Noosa Waters is a residential community which is already situated with in
walking distance from a large variety of shops restaurants and banks, and there is
absolutely no call for any new retail outlet near our community.
2. In the proposed development the entrance is to be created in Skipper Place, within
a very short distance from the Gibson Road roundabout.
3. This Roundabout is small and very busy, frequently causes congestion when
residential vehicles enter Gibson Road. Currently visibility is poor at the right.
4. Anticipating an entrance to this new development at Skipper Place, there will be
further risk from customers exiting the Gibson road roundabout and immediately
turning into the customer entrance on the right on Skipper Place.
5. We are not in need of a Shopping Centre. My home is situated on the other side of
a shared fence; we will suffer from the noise coming from the proposed Centre,
and outdoor eating area.
6. There would be associated unpleasant cooking smells from the proposed
restaurants.
7. Late night facilities are a well known magnet for cars hooning along Gibson
Road,. This already is the case adjoining the facilities at the Villa Noosa Hotel.
8. The area in the proposal set out for a garbage station is situated within metres of
residential properties near by, and there would be associated odours, which would
ultimately reduce the value of all properties.
9. There are already empty shops and offices at most of shopping areas near by.

10 It is understood that the reasons that the Blue Ginger Restaurant at the Ever Green
Centre near by is not permitted to open in the evenings is because it is built
adjoining a residential area, and has been stopped by the Sunshine Coast Council
from operating at night because of the noise factor for local residents.
11 The lack of business being conducted at the Ever Green Centre is a clear
indication that there is no call for this type of business in that area. This new
proposal will have similar effects here.
I feel sure that most of the residents of Skipper Place, Keel Crt, Neptune Circuit,
Sunseeker Cis and Stillwater Place would have the same thoughts as I and my wife do,
and would object strongly to the proposal being allowed.
This block of land would be far better re zoned for use as residential units, and would be
in keeping with our residential community.
Yours faithfully
John Chaning-Pearce.
