OBJECTION TO PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AT 37 GIBSON ROAD,
NOOSAVILLE BY MARQUETTE PROPERTIES.
Planning application MCU10/2083
Dear Sir/Madam,
As a residential block owner at 3/ 6 Stillwater Place, Noosaville, I wish to lodge my
objection to the above proposed shopping complex development.
My property shares a common boundary fence with this proposed development, and my
objections are for the following reasons.
1. Noosa Waters is a residential community which is already situated with in
walking distance from a large variety of shops restaurants and banks, and there is
absolutely no call for any new retail outlet near our community.
2. In the proposed development the entrance is to be created in Skipper Place, within
a very short distance from the Gibson Road roundabout.
3. This Roundabout is small and very busy, frequently causes congestion when
residential vehicles enter Gibson Road. Currently visibility is poor at the right.
4. Anticipating an entrance to this new development at Skipper Place, there will be
further risk from customers exiting the Gibson road roundabout and immediately
turning into the customer entrance on the right on Skipper Place.
5. We are not in need of a Shopping Centre. My home is situated on the other side of
a shared fence; we will suffer from the noise coming from the proposed Centre,
and outdoor eating area.
6. There would be associated unpleasant cooking smells from the proposed
restaurants.
7. Late night facilities are a well known magnet for cars hooning along Gibson
Road,. This already is the case adjoining the facilities at the Villa Noosa Hotel.
8. The area in the proposal set out for a garbage station is situated within metres of
residential properties near by, and there would be associated odours, which would
ultimately reduce the value of all properties.
9. There are already empty shops and offices at most of shopping areas near by.
