Chief Executive Officer Noosa Council P O Box 141 TEWANTIN Qld 4565 15 February, 2022 Emailed to: [email protected] Submission Objecting to Application Reference MCU17/0076.01 1/25 Edward St, Noosaville, Qld 4566 Other change to include Short Term Accommodation (Multiple Housing Type 2 Duplex & Operational Works) Dear Sir We refer to the above development application which is presently being publicly notified due to being impact assessable development. Noosa Shire Council is the assessment manager for this development application. We are the owners of an adjoining dwelling in a dual occupancy use and this dwelling is our permanent place of residence. We have been permanent residents of Noosa local government area for the last 8 years. We have resided in our home beside the above site since October, 2017. We wish to object to this development application and request that the application be refused by Council. Those grounds on which we have based our objection include, but are by no means limited to, the following 1. This adjoining premises has been operating as a short term accommodation use for about the last 2.5 years. During this time we have been subjected to what appears to be a disregard by the guests and the owner of this adjoining premises to the fact that this adjoining premises is located in a residential area. There has been frequently late night partying and socialising within the adjoining premises by guests who are staying in this premises for short periods of time. 2. The western side of the adjoining premises has been designed and constructed for entertaining as it comprises a pool and its adjoining deck is about 2 metres of our property. During the last 2.5 years it has been common for guests staying in the adjoining premises to be on the deck or in the pool laughing and talking loudly and even what sounds like yelling, at almost any hour of the night and day. It is as if they are staying in the adjoining premises for a short time so it may as well be a good time. 3. Our home was obviously designed and constructed to take advantage of its northern aspect as preferred by Council under sustainable building design principles. As such, our main living area and main bedroom are along the northern boundary of our property. This is close to the outdoor entraining area and indoor living and indoor living area of the adjoining premises. Again during that last 2.5 years it has been common for our valued residential amenity to disturbed night and day by guests staying in the adjoining premises on a short term basis.
