outcomes apply to:
1. development on land in a koala priority area, where the
development does not interfere with koala habitat and
where the benchmarks are additional to and not
inconsistent with, the assessment benchmarks stated in
schedule 11, part 2 of the Planning Regulations 2017;
and
2. development on land outside the koala priority area,
where the development does not interfere with koala
habitat in koala habitat areas.
Project Outcome:
As described/illustrated in the ecology assessment and as displayed on site, the land is not appropriately
connected to the surrounding bushland for koalas.
The area is fenced and separated by a road.
Nevertheless, koala habitat trees are to be retained within the bushland patch.
Infill planting would include koala feed trees (L.confertus as per the concept landscape plan).
A fauna spotter would be present during the clearing of the few trees proposed to be removed.
These are matters that would be part of the approval condition.
